The collection includes apartments there, while villas with gardens and pools are found in other settings.

Fontane Bianche is a separate coastal base south of the city. Villa Fontane Bianche, for example, lists Syracuse at 21 km. Inland properties offer another option: Villa Shanti lists the city centre at 7 km, while Villa Gemma is near Floridia. Think about how often you want to go into town, visit the sea or spend the day by your pool.

Yes. The Syracuse collection includes villas close to the beach, including Villa Fontane Bianche, listed at 160 metres from the sand. Its property page also lists a five-minute walk to a bakery, bar and shops. Other homes in the collection are inland, so beach access varies considerably.

For a holiday with regular swims in the sea, check the walking route as well as the distance. Ask about road crossings, steps and the entrance to the beach if travelling with children or anyone with limited mobility. A sea view does not necessarily mean direct access to the shore.

Some Syracuse villas have heated pools. Villa Shanti has a saltwater swimming pool, with heating included in April, May, October and November. The villa accommodates eight guests in four bedrooms and lists the centre of Syracuse at 7 km.

Pool heating arrangements vary by property and season. Before booking, confirm the opening dates, any heating charges and which pool or spa is heated. At Villa Fontane Bianche, for example, the main pool is listed as open from May to October, while the heated spa minipool is available throughout the year. The two facilities have different uses and opening periods.

A car is usually useful for a villa outside central Syracuse, especially for combining town visits, beaches and grocery shopping. Villa Shanti lists the city centre at 7 km, while Villa Fontane Bianche lists Syracuse at 21 km. Staying in Ortigia makes exploring the old town on foot more practical.

For airport planning, Villa Shanti lists Catania Airport at 57 km and Villa Fontane Bianche at 71 km. These are property-specific distances, not guaranteed driving times. Check parking and the access road at your chosen villa, and arrange transport before booking if you prefer not to drive. Your daily plans matter as much as the airport transfer.
