Villa Aida

Aida is quite simply a gem of a villa and perfect for large groups! This extremely spacious villa with private pool is set in the Iblean countryside, just a short distance from the centre of Modica and its enchanting Baroque works of art.

From the minute you step through the door of Villa Aida, you’ll be immersed in complete tranquillity. Then, in the flourishing garden, olive trees and a green lawn provide the perfect backdrop for the sparkling reflections of the pool and the soothing bubbles of the jacuzzi. The solid, imposing stone walls are typical of the farmhouse-style architecture of western Sicily, and large and stylishly furnished terraces ensure that you can relax in the garden at any time.

The villa comfortably accommodates 24 people in 8 bedrooms, all with en-suite bathrooms and air conditioning, split between the main building and three annexes. Even at maximum occupancy, guests will still be able to enjoy plenty of privacy.

Villa Aida is made up of three separate buildings. The main villa is set on two floors: the ground floor has a bright and tastefully furnished living room, a modern, spacious kitchen with all mod cons, a dining room with a magnificent wooden table, and a guest bathroom. On the first floor, which can be accessed via two separate staircases, there are five double bedrooms (one with an additional double bed), each with their own private bathroom. This floor also has a comfy second living room, with a charming mini wine cellar that’s geared up for sampling the fantastic local wine. The villa’s luxurious interior is furnished with originality and charm, revealing a wonderful blend of contemporary design, vintage style and Sicilian flair.

The building adjacent to the main villa comprises three spacious annexes, each with a double bed, en-suite bathroom and, in two of the rooms, a stylish mezzanine area with a single bed. The third building, the former stables, has been refurbished with meticulous care. The stone walls and striking beamed wooden roof have been retained and the whole area converted to provide an open-plan kitchen and dining area with a huge table that’s perfect for sharing special moments with friends and family.

Life at Villa Aida flows at a slow pace. This is a place to fully appreciate the slow rhythm of the Sicilian summer: breakfasts on the terrace, a dip in the pool and a bit of time for sunbathing. After that, a spot of light lunch and an afternoon nap in the shade, before retreating to the jacuzzi for a soak and a glass of white wine as the sun goes down. Then, as the stars emerge in the night sky, it’s time to pop some fresh fish on the barbecue for dinner.

If you want a taste of some local art and culture, you’re in the right place. The towns of Modica, Noto, Ragusa Ibla and Scicli are just moments away. Or, succumb to the magic of a pristine natural world of sand dunes and emerald-colour water in the Vendicari Nature Reserve.

Standard booking conditions include a minimum of 4-5 nights for villas and 2-3 nights for apartments. Different booking conditions may apply for specific properties or seasons. The bedrooms made available, where the number of guests is below the maximum occupancy, and in case of a reduced rate due to the lower occupancy, will be adequate for the number of guests to stay there.
