Many of you these days have been booking some of our villas in Palermo. The estates are all located close to the city centre therefore are the perfect choice for those who would like to explore the capital of Sicily.

By day Palermo offers so much to see and experience, thanks to its old town filled with art and architectural masterpieces, the legacy of a long and complex history; but what about the night? How is the nightlife? Which places you cannot absolutely miss?

If you are looking for some advice on how to have a great night in Palermo you are in the right place! You tour should start with a toast so head to the Vucciria, one of the capital’s historic market. At night the market square and the alleys are crowded with people drinking and celebrating. Head to the Taverna Azzurra (Discesa Maccheronai, 15) and have a glass of fortified wine, choosing between the sweet Zibibbo or the Sangue (blood in Italian), a wine specifically created for this tavern.

Just a few steps away from the market, crossing Via Roma, there is a little trattoria, perfect for a traditional Sicilian dinner, Ferro di Cavallo is its name (Via Venezia, 20). Ask for mixed starters to try the classics, and don’t miss the swordfish rolls and the eggplant rolls.

After dinner you can roam around the old town, turning back to the Vucciria, moving to the fascinating Piazza Rivoluzione, or to the marina hitting some bar in Via dei Chiavettieri, you will immediatley notice how vivid the Sicilian nights can be around here. Although, if you are looking for something off the beaten path, you should visit the Tredici Tapas Bar (Via Mariano Stabile, 47) a unique place in town. This classy lounge bar is the only one serving tapas in Palermo, but its strong point are the cocktails, you won’t find anything like it anywhere else in town.
