If you are a pistachio fan you know already the famous pistachio of Bronte, a small village on the Etna slopes. Bronte’s pistachio is the star of “Sagra del pistacchio di Bronte” that takes place every year in late September.

You can join the 28th edition of this country fest from September 22 to September 24 and from September 29 to October 1. During the event, guided tours of Bronte’s old town will be organized as well as exhibitions, live shows and other side events. If you want to attend you can find your accommodation in our villas in Catania collection.

Bronte pistachio is particularly precious and sought after for its aromatic and pleasant taste in pastry, ice cream and flavoring and flavoring many foods. The oil, extracted from the fruit, also finds application in dermatology for its high emollient and softening qualities. But it’s in the kitchen that the pistachio becomes a king. Pistachio is not just synonymous of sweet dishes part of the Sicilian culinary tradition, but nutritious seasoning for first courses.

The reputation of pistachio as a pasta dressing has been growing well beyond Sicily’s borders, no less delicious is the homemade pasta made with pistachio flour. The sweets naturally make it a must: pastries, cakes and ice cream created with the precious fruit of Etna have become some of the most famous sweet dishes of Sicilian cuisine.

In addition to the fabulous ice cream and the pistachio-baked pie (made with sponge cake, sometimes stuffed with a layer of chocolate), there is a ton of ways we use pistachio around here: the tasty pistachio paste made with the same procedure with which the almond paste is made, the pistachio pesto, and we could continue.

Well if you want to discover all the ways you can use pistachio to create great dishes, or just taste them, you cannot miss Pistachio fest in Bronte.
