This year Ypsigrock celebrates its 20th edition and for the last 20 years it has been bringing the best bands from the international indie scene in Castelbuono, a small town in the heart of the Madonie mountains.

Ypsigrock 20th anniversary edition will take place from August 4 to 7. The schedule includes a variety of musical genres plus a few extra-musical side events.

This year the stages become four with Mr. Y Stage – located in the former Church of the Crucifix – which adds all’Ypsi Once Stage, the traditional stage in Piazza Castello, the Ypsi & Love Stage, at the cloister of San Francesco and the Cuzzocrea Stage, at the Ypsicamping.

The musical events will start everyday around 8.30 pm and will go on all night long until 4 am in the morning. Not for the faint of heart! Ypsigrock festival owes is one of the most famous musical fests in Italy and surely the most important indie festival of the country. Its charm is enhanced by the setting. The old town of Castelbuono is a perfectly preserved medieval hamlet, and the main stage is set indeed in the front-yard of the castle.

This twentieth edition will see among its headliners Crystal Castles and The Vaccines; the Daughter will perform here on their only Italian concert as well as Kiasmos and Savages. To top it off one of the legendary bands from Seattle’s 90s grunge scene, Mudhoney, will perform on the first night. The line up is completed by bands that ensure a consistently high quality level, as a Minor Victories, Giant Sand, in their last performance in Italy, the LUH, Georgia, Willis Earl Beal, Loyle Carner, Federico Albanian, Oscar, The Vryll Society, up to a number of Italian bands such as Niagara, Birthh, Capybara, LIM and Daniele Sciolla.
