The traditional Sepia Festival in the Donnalucata marina changes its name but keeps its characteristic goodness! The food and wine festival nowadays is called “Taste the Black Sea” and it’s a great opportunity to enjoy sepia cooked in many different ways.

The ancient port of Donnalucata becomes the theater of the best gastronomy of the South coast. The menu will be rich but still exclusively based on sepia, cooked in several ways. Taste of the Black Sea is held during Spring. The event is usually linked to the Cavalcade of St. Joseph of Donnalucata. This year’s edition will start on March 17 and it will go on for the whole weekend.

Donnalucata is one of the marinas in Scicli, which is about 8 km away. This beautiful village overlooking the sea has been used as a shooting location to create “Marinella”, the town  of Commissioner Montalbano, and here are shot many scenes of the TV series.
The coast of Donnalucata is characterized by wide golden sandy beaches, which in summer become a destination for vacationers. The main activities of the village are fishing and tourism, in addition to greenhouse farming with horticulture and flower production.
